Chondrodystrophy (CDDY/IVDD)
Summary
This insertion on CFA12 causes short legs. It also causes big ears and a substantial increase in the risk of developing inter-vertebral disk disease (IVDD). A similar insertion on CFA18 causes short legs but without so much risk of IVDD.
This insertion was identified in NSDTRs while the other one is responsible for short legs in daschunds and some other small dog breeds.
